Stepside Box Ends
I am doing this work for my son. I shaved the stake pockets and welded some ends on the box to close them up. Wondering what everyone has done with latches to get rid of those nasty chains!

I've seen people use seatbelts to latch the gat closed...looks pretty good.
You could also pick up a street rod mag...lots of different kits out there for this kind of upgrade. good job so far! -Jeff |

Looks good! Yea there are some very nice looking latches made specifically for what you want. Also look at something like Custom Classic Trucks, there should be some ads in there.

Thanks guys. I will look those up. I have some old GM seat belts that could work very nicely. I wonder if the fleetside side hinge will work for keeping it from dropping to the bumper. I guess I could always use the cables too, like the late model trucks.

I bought the pros-chooice hidden latch kit for my truck. Its very nice but I have not installed it yet so sorry no picks. I like how you welded the ends up! I need to tell the body shop to do that before they are finished.
