Re: What brand of spark plug?
I only run Bosch Platinum or NGK.
Autolite is absolute trash. Champion isn't far behind. AC Delco is decent. Just my $0.02.

Re: What brand of spark plug?
Anything but Champions. I use AC R44ts or R45ts if it uses the tappered seats. About 71 up. On the flat seat with gasket I use R44s or R45s.

I only run NGK's now. They're in everything I own. The 67, silverado, s-10, and corolla.

Re: What brand of spark plug?
AC Delco. I even had Motorcrafts *cough* in it once and they worked fine too. Only plugs I ever had trouble with were Champions -- that was a long time ago and I have not tried them since. Burn me once....

Re: What brand of spark plug?
GMCDUDE what acan of worms you have opened !! haha
Choice of spark plugs is like choice of color. At my place we run AC Delco in GM's Motorcraft in F^&*'s, and Champion in Chrysler. The asian will mostly get NGK. I personally have AC DELCO in both of my old Chevy's amd will use nothing else |

Re: What brand of spark plug?
cparman I think the plugs that the PO had in this engine where too cold for the engine and then I had carb. problem that cause another set to foul out but this set is going to be hotter.

Re: What brand of spark plug?
NGK's are supposed to be really good. i run those on my vintage honda motorcycles. many cars can use other brands of plugs, but it is good insurance to stick close to the factory.

Re: What brand of spark plug?
NGK Irridiums in everything I own.
Tried Bosch had nothing but problems, Champion truck plugs in the 454 did OK, but the NGK's sing, no start problems at all. Love those things, except the price, but they work. |
