Blazer has some nice options. I don't have a pic of the label but that's easy enough to do if you like. Off the top of my head it has tilt wheel, gauges, A/C that still blows cold, that highlander cloth interior, yada yada. It's a CST. Other than this eye popping interior/exterior color combo I would assume it's pretty much your typical run of the mill 72 blazer.

I haven't pulled it apart yet. I've gathered most everything and I'm ready to do it. I'm still contemplating the drive-by-wire and whether or not I want to swap the throttle body to cable actuated, or fab some sort of bracket and make the sending unit work on the stock gas pedal. I also need a shop up the street to make some custom A/C hoses to hook the new style compressor up to the stock A/C system, but that's after it's up and running. Other little things like the power steering lines, shift linkage etc....That I have to figure out probably as I go along.
Other than that it's really just sitting here waiting for me to start pulling things apart and start fabbing.
Pics won't be a problem. I can start a new post with updates as I go along. I don't know really how long this will take. But I'm hoping to knock it out in a couple weeks or so. That usually doubles though

Yep. I can do up to 3 inch. Will come in handy since I'll also have to fab up the exhaust from the stock manifolds down to where the header collectors currently stop. Just a couple of pieces about 3 feet long or so.

Would you be interested in bending up some radiator hoses for me. I have a flexible metal hose that can be bent for a template and the tubing can be bought from McMaster-Carr

I tell most people to just swing in for things like that but that's a bit of a swing

That's the great thing about our country, I just ship it out to you! I've tried local, but noone seems to be able to do it, wierd, huh. I've wasted way to much time trying to get my coolant system up and runnin'. Tubing would be the last step, I hope

No I don't have a mandrel. I wish I was that high tech Even the cheapest ones cost $30,000 which is why even most exhaust shops don't have them either. Very hard to find a custom shop with a mandrel. Is that what is keeping you from doing it local???

I've done custom setups before as well as some rollbar work on sandrails. The crushbends aren't as bad on small tube like 1 1/2 inch. It's the 3 inch stuff where it looks terrible. When doing the coolant lines I've sent them out to be jethot coated which keeps them looking nice. Or,,,the aluminum tubing can be sanded and polished but it takes more upkeep for them to stay looking nice. For this Blazer I am doing now I'm just going to paint the coolant tubes gloss black. I'm not trying to make a show truck. Most of it will be hidden from view anyway.

i buy my pipes pre bent...but habor fraight has a mandrel style bender..... and there are other manual mandral benders outthere.. that are in the 4-5 grand range for good benders.

I've bought pre bent mandrel tubing from Jegs and Summit. Usually when I'm ordering other stuff I'll throw some of that in when I'm doing something that requires mandrel.

I get it at stuart and stevenson. Or I work at a mack dealer I can order throug us. The mandral like manual bender is less than a g at harbor fraight

I got the mandrel bent tubing from summit for my jeeps exhaust. IT's pretty reasonable.
