How bad would it look?
I just had what could be a really original idea or a really awful idea. What would a 67-72 stepside bed look like with late model fenders.Could it be done or would it just be plain AWFUL

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I think the original ones would look better. If you want to do something to set your truck apart, you could modify what you have to make it look different. Just my opinion though. Goodluck.

I don't think it would look good, but you might get some of the Photoshop gods to cut and paste and see what it might look like?

Every time I see a classic front end with a late bed, it reminds me of an 80 yr old woman married to a 20 year old guy...just plain wrong.

There is a red one here. I don't recall exactly what year but it is a 67-72 front with the newer smoother stepside box. It looks factory and not out of place so far as I am concerned. I assume the owner is a bodyman as I usually see it outside a local bodyshop. Could probably get a photo of it but not for a few days. Would need to watch for it.

I guess I'm the odd man here - no comments! Hey its your truck and I like anything that is not same ol everyday boring. I would have to see a photoshoped pic because I'm having a hard time picturing the idea.

The only reason I'd do it would be if my bed wasn't salvageable, and I couldn't find another 67-72 shortbed of either type. I actually know a guy here that wanted to trade me the newer style box off of his 90? stepside for mine off of my 72. I of course said no.

I've seen it done and it doesn't look THAT bad. If all of our trucks looked the same, we'd be just another Corvette club.

One of the biggest problems is that the wheel openings don't match up. I hate 'em but that's my opinion and I wouldn't put anyone down for doing it.

I've heard that several times about the wheel wells but I guess I haven't ever noticed it.Is it that noticable?Does someone have a pic of one from the side.I don't guess I've seen one from the side view.
