Gas Tank Size

JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE KNEW WHAT DIFFERENT SIZE TANKS WERE OFFERED WITH OUR TRUCKS?(BEHIND THE SEAT) MY TRUCK HAS A GOOD SIZED "STORAGE" AREA ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. DON'T REALLY WANT TO RUN IT OUT OF GAS TO FIND OUT. THE TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY A S-6 WITH 3 SPD MANUAL

Approx 20 gallons and in 71/72 it was closer to 21. That space is where the jack was stowed. There were no other incab options. You could get additional saddle tanks dealer installed. These were usually on trucks outfitted as campers, etc.

You might want to get the Chevrolet Restoration Pack.
It is free literature about your vehicle such as specs capacities and other general stuff.
Check this previous post for the information you will need to get yours.
It is not VIN specific so it is just general information but still good to have.
It does not contain any production numbers either.
I am not sure if they provide GMC data if not you could try for the 67 Chevrolet information.
GMC Pauls web site has a lot of good data regarding the Vin for GMC models
Previous post
GMC Pauls

This board is still the best source for specific information on your truck.
Have fun
