Project Holy Grail

A few months ago, A friend and I came across the Holy Grail of trucks. Its a short bed 4x4 but in need of major help. The first thought was to slap a cab from a 3/4 ton and call it good. One thing led to another and now we have a bare frame sitting on saw horses. The short fleet bed needs some work on the floor and a new front panel but the bed sides are in good shape. The old cab was complete junk so its getting replaced by a rust free cab from a camper special. The sm465 is being replaced by a 350/205 combo out of a square body donor. The engine will be a freshened up 327. We will put one of our many newer 4 row copper radiators in. The truck came with white wagon spokes. They will go ba-bye in favor of some nice aluminum wheels from the 86 Scottsdale that was parted out.
The goal is to have a nice truck in the end, but definitely not a show truck.
I hope it works out well!
I'm sure the expert help from the board will be needed.

Re: Project Holy Grail

The frame is in great shape except where the po butchered the back bumper area. That won't take long to repair. The minor surface rust will be sand blasted off and the frame will get por15 paint.
