Introducing "Project...Oooh Weee!"

Hey guys, I ve been a member here for almost a year now. I've mostly been just reading and posting a few reply's and comments here and there. Asked lots of questions and have given a little advice for what little I know. Allow me to tell my story on how I found this truck & why my name is 68jewel. Just like many of you, I have wanted one of these trucks for years. So, I set out on an Ebay & Craigslist journey. To my avail I found a 68 clipped small window 67 about an hour outside of Dallas. I went to go see it and of course it was rotted beyond my liking with no title. But, I thought long and hard and decided to buy it anyway and put a new cab on it since the frame and bed were decent. I kept looking and found a 68 cab on Ebay. Called the guy and he said he had the bed & frame that he was going to list seperately. I said, "really?" I asked was the rest in good shape and he said yes. I asked how much he wanted for the whole package and he told me $2500. He further added it had no front clip, motor or tranny. I asked why so expensive for a cab-on-back truck with no motor or tranny. He then said the cab had already been painted with new front & rear glass. Cab also included a one-piece Brother's side glass kit, new grey carpet(for sale), a new black dash pad(for sale) and interior seat had been recovered(which is for sale on this site.) And he just wanted the money back that he had in it. Bought the truck on pics alone as it was in Colorado and I wasn't nor could I afford to just fly there to look at the truck. The pics you see below are the ones the owner sent me. I will post some more of my own later. I know, I know...that was a big chance I took, huh? To my luck, I got the truck shipped here and it was perfect. No rot, no cancer, etc. Just your normal surface rust in the normal areas. The bed floor was kind of rough, the top of the tailgate had a few knots/dings, but no big deal. I really didn't care about a motor or tranny since I was going to go with my own combination of choice anyway. Therefore, since I lucked up on finding this truck I named my screen name 68jewel as I thought it was a diamond in the rough that I found. As far as the project name, I just came up with the name "Oooh Weee!" as that's what I want people to say when they see it rolling down the street. LOL!! Sorry for the long story guys. It's gonna be a slow build, but I will keep you all updated on progress and pics.

Here is a list of plans for the truck...

*Frame off, paint, wheels, etc...you know the normal stuff
*22x9 front & 22x12 rear 3 piece wheels
*15" Baer disc brakes on all 4 corners
*Porterbuilt front C4 dropmember, rear C4 dropmember & hood hinges
*'59 Impala dash with Dakota Digital gauges
*Shaved drip rails, cowl, marker lights, firewall & door handles
*Teas custom bench seat
*Dana 44 independent rear suspension
*LS 6.0 408 c.i. stroker with 4L80E tranny
