Re: How do you properly adjust headlights on 72 c10?
It's easier than these sites make it look... but here we go: http://www.automedia.com/Aiming_Head...cr20010801ha/1
Here's another: http://www.ehow.com/how_4962528_aim-headlights.html Probably the most comprehensive: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html One more: http://www.midstatedmc.com/tech/aim.htm And there are many more. They all do about the same thing, so use whichever one is easiest to understand.

Park on a flat surface about 30-40 feet from a wall (parking garages work well). Set the lights to low beam and adjust up/down so that the light cuts off about 2-3 feet up the wall. For the left/right adjustment you can push a little to the passenger side but if they are aimed low enough you can spill a good bit of light on the other side of the road and still not blind oncoming drivers. EDIT: Wow the above links are waaaay more comprehensive... but I've done fine just eyeballing everything. I also use Euro spec headlights which have a very sharp cut off so maybe they are a little easier to aim. Last edited by snowblind; 12-14-2009 at 08:07 PM. |
