Here is a thread I started awhile back... I'm going to go ahead and buy the wooden corvette wheel...I think it looks real sharp.

I sure understand that.

I got all my stuff from a junk yard. I am using an 80's?? pump and a 69-72 gear that came with the pitman arm. Also from a junk yard. that's one route you could maybe take.

Just always drive faster!!!

JK.

I drove a 71 with a grant and without power for many years. Even with 10" wide front wheels it would steer fairly easily (parallel parking was still a bit of a challenge but doable). Neglect the ball joints and tie rod ends for a little while and it would get a lot harder to steer. A little lube might go a long way.

Re: pics of steering wheels???

Factory wheels do wonders for non power steering. In my opinion nothing looks better also. Especially the 67-68, they look great. If you find one I can restore it for you.

Re: pics of steering wheels???

Power steering only matters when parking, basically. If you can`t find a decent original wheel, alot of guys are using the sport wheels from 88 up until air bags in 95?The can be had for pretty cheap and you may find one at the junkyard. Here`s a picture of one in my old`90 Blazer:

I see the later truck wheels used alot, too.any earlier GM wheel will work from a car.
