Found out my pickup has a posi while doing rear wheel bearings and seals. The seal was leaking for a while since having the fluid changed. We also installed a rearview mirror, that's about all that got accomplished on the pickup

Re: What did you get done 1/3/09 new year edition

My wife and I went to another member's house on New Years Eve. That was real fun for us. We don't get out much. Thanks Adam! The rest of the weekend was full of hanging out and cleaning the house. We cleaned our cars out to, and I vacuumed them too. My Honda was getting dirtier than I thought. The truck got it's front tire aired up again, and again, and again to try to prevent another warning from the city for being "Inoperable". Because the 2-3" of ice packed in areas of the roads has nothing to do with it sitting.

Haven't really done anything to the truck. Did get the new gas tank, sending unit, and speedo cable for the 700R4.

Happy New Year to all!

Didn't do much really. Started the install of a Autoloc Air Command unit. I'll call their tech folks tomorrow, but for now I'm not impressed.

Other than that I just watched TV, adjusted, installed, or cleaned up a few things around the house.

Pushed (and shoveled) snow around the dooryard. I had to replace the swing rams on the plow, 1 blew the packing nut, so I swapped them both (hoses too). Now I have a spare.

About 3-4" Thurs., 3-4" Fri., 8-12" more when I got up this morning.

Re: What did you get done 1/3/09 new year edition

Friday I got up and got the tractor out and pushed my truck over to the shop and put it on the lift...it's got a bad starter and flexplate...well, get it over on the lift and take it apart yesterday, thought I had a flexplate on the wall that would work and a starter on the shelf...no such luck, neither would work...so took the rest of the night off...today went to O'reilly's and bought a new starter and flexplate, had to wait till a couple of minutes ago for the flexplate to come in...so went and picked it up and now I'm back home...it's been an eventful weekend...also helped my neighbor frame up some of the 30x60 addition he's putting on his pole barn...been real cold here too...

Re: What did you get done 1/3/09 new year edition

Worked on my friends 77, replaced the carb and manifold, new battery, adjustment to the transmission and replaced fluid filter and gasket.

I put a grill-guard on my pick up and replaced the leaking power steering pump and still waiting for the system to get the air out of it.

ha, 16 degrees outside of Buffalo. This weekend I rang in the new year with friends, lounged around the house. Tonight, I went to Buffalo to see Jeff Dunham perform. It was a decent show. I saw alot of his material already on TV though.

Dec 31 scored a pair of dumbo mirrors from a local JY.
Jan 2 scored right fender and left tail lens from another local JY.

Jan 3 spent time cleaning and replacing mirrors. Fender will have to be sanded and primed before being painted.

Yo! FRANKENTRUCK ate the end of it's TH400 dipstick! I had to locate one,..."discontinued" with GM, and aftermarkets are car application (about ten inches too short). Called "my tranny guys" in Denver on Thursday and they had a complete tube and stick to me on Saturday!
If it ever warms enough in my garage, I'll drop the pan and remove the broken dipstick end.
Assembled more of my industrial shelving this weekend. Only two to go!
Drank beer.
Todd.

Re: What did you get done 1/3/09 new year edition

Went to the wrecking yard and scored a perfect new body style washer jar and weather-pak style connector washer pump plus a spare pump and two more bottle to pump gaskets.

Got it installed onto the 78 and functional. The original owner had installed a different jar and electric pump wired through a separate switch in the dash but it didn't work. I wired up the new pump to the stock washer pump control wires and it works great. I snagged two extra stock wiper switches at the yard just in case so I have a spare if it dies.

Also scored a 90 vintage square body electronic speedo dash with left side mounting tab intact plus a set of 240 water, 80 psi oil, quartz clock & E-1/2-F fuel gauge to go with it. Got a V-8 third gen Camaro tach and got all its gauge needles to match too.

Got rid of the xmas tree and all the decorations. Fixed the garage door opener. Tweaked some stuff on the motorhome to get it ready for Vegas this weekend. Cleaned and organized the garage and moved the 91 to the middle bay so I can go to work on it. AND, bought a wii, so we played tennis, golf, etc. Wow! looks like a busy weekend!
