seat question- and Im new Hi

First off I'm a new member so hi to everyone
Just picked up my 72 c20, in pretty good shape. only real problem area is the bed floor and wheel wells and the tailgate.
I found a bed with tailgate in excellent cond. for $300 locally so thats taken care of.
I would like to install a front seat from a dodge ram pick up (with the big center console ) I know there will have to be some mods if it fits.
has anyone used one of these yet??
would love to see some pics if you have.
Also want some of your opinions on lowering my truck, this is the 1st real mod I wanna try and have no real clue what set up to go with.
My truck is a 3/4 ton w rear coil springs, disc brakes in front

For the lowering you have some choices, such as; Lowered Springs, Drop Spindles, Modified Control Arms, Drop Member, Airbags, Shockwaves, etc, etc. The first decision to make is whether you want a static drop or an adjustable ride height. Once you determine that- then your budget and skill level will dictate the rest.

Regarding the seats- I can't speak to what is needed to install the Ram model, but in my '67 I put in the front seats out of an '03 Silverado Crew Cab. I did have to drill new holes and fab some reinforceing plates, as well as, fab some 3/4" spacers for the front mounting holes. I would think something similar would be needed for the Dodge seats. Here's how mine look.

those chevy seats look great.
only reason why I asked about dodge seats is because I already have the seat.

Im not a mechanic in the least bit and dont know what a static drop is , im assuming adjustable is similar to coilovers??

i did a search and found a member who used the dodge seat , so i sent him a pm thanks for the heads up

Static means you cant adjust. Example: Lowered spindles, Lowered springs. Adjustable means just that. Example: Air ride, Air bags. Like Dingfodgy said, Its up to you which route you want to go with. Static is more economical, great ride, not so great if you need to haul heavy stuff in the bed. Air ride is more expensive, great ride, more fun, And gives you the option of raising for hauling or airing out for kick a$% stance!!! Welcome BTW!!

Best thing to to with the seat is to set it in there an see if it fits the truck and looks right. And sits right.

Unbolt the stock seat and stick the other one in and see what happens. Most likely you will have to drill new holes to mount it if it does indeed fit the truck right and you may be onto something. Show us photos if it works or doesn't work so we will know how it works out.
I have a plain seat out of an 88 Chev 4x4 in my 71 and for some reason it sits too high and I end up looking out though the tinted band of the windshield and actually look over the mirror. Makes a 5'10" guy look seven feet tall. I'm going to section the seat base this weekend if the weather is good.

The seats out of a later standard cab truck usually work better in our trucks than seats out of extended cab trucks because the leanbacks are straighter on the back side.

I found a thread from a member who put a seat in from 99 dodge ram
looks very good and fitment looks great, i think he did a little welding and that was it, no drilling. I pm'ed him for more info so we'll see

and it appears im more of a static drop person at this point haha
so ill look into some companies who sell kits/ parts

Welcome! When looking at lowering stuff,don't forget our fine BB vendors.They usually have just about the same stuff and can usually give you a great price.Most also build trucks and can help guide you when you come to a stumbling block.
