Re: What is this?

Under the dash, in the middle. I'm thinking it is a heater component, because I have no heater switch, just the control panel, nothing to turn on the blower.

Re: What is this?

I just looked at my '63's plug for the blower motor. I would say that you are correct in saying that it is for the heater blower motor control.
Greg.

Re: What is this?

The plug goes to the element on the back of the plenum box under the dash. I believe it is for a Deluxe-Air heater/defrost assembly. The fan blower motor wire is a single orange wire, that goes through the firewall, adjacent to the underhood heater box and it has a single female blade connector.

Ahh. It's about to rain, so I will have to hold off to go check it out. It does have the deluxe heater/defroster.

At the firewall, the underdash heater plenum has a dog-leg in it...the element attaches the the backside of the plenum box, between the plenum and the firewall. It is not visible, but you can reach it, in order to plug in the connector.
