Holley Numbers?
I need to order a heat shield for my Holley. I was reading on the Holley site apparently the stain and small puddle I see the next day is do to heat. I found one heat shield on summit but says it needs to be certain part # to fit. So after looking at my carb?? Anyone have a clue which or where should I be looking for this? And am I going to need a magnifer to see it? I seen one number apparently rather small but looked to be too long. Please don't tell me I need to remove the carb..???

Re: Holley Numbers?
You might want to check your fuel pressure. My stock mechanical pump was putting out almost 9psi which pushed the fuel past the needle and seats filling the carb until it overflowed dripping fuel on the intake on either side of the carb. Holleys only like a Max of 7.5psi and the fuel line stays pressurized even when the motor is not running.
If that is the case for you a fuel pressure regulator may be what you need. I have mine set at 5.5psi with no problems, |

Re: Holley Numbers?
I have recently installed a gage to monitor the pressure it stays between 5.5 to 6 PSI. The Holley site recommends max of 7 PSI max so you are right. Also I am using a electric red holley fuel pump with a preset pressure of 6.5 PSI. Located all the way in the back. The site suggests the primary cause is the heat (Purculating effect), then if that doesn't solve it adjustment of a float of some kind. Nothing leaks while running as far as I can tell. Thanks for your input.
