Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

Interested in the side moldings if you'd split them up from the tailgate molding? If you would split can you give me a price? Thanks Randy

price is very low for the set.. if I break it up I would have to get $65.00 plus shipping without the tailgate band

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

George,

Seems I need to bring this back into the public forum so we can see your original post. There is no information you want a 20% restocking fee in your post if I was not happy. I am already out over $40 for shipping, both ways, since I took them at your word and listing with no pictures.(Lesson learned). Check your original listing as there are no indications of overspray or a 20%restocking fee etc.

Do not pull this bull on a 20% restocking fee. You do not make things up as you go along. This is not how this board works. I will also loose 3% on paypal too. Unbelievable.

Here are the PM's describing our transaction in the parts section of this board:

John they went out today and I also included a upper
tailgate trim piece, upper tailgate handle, and some front moldings for a GMC, at least $50.00 worth of extra goodies for you... the shipping was $22.55
and thanks again,,,
George

George, The parts arived but I have not had a chance to look through the box. The mouldings were bent and there was not much packing just them banging around the box. In a quick look, the tailgate pieces were quite bent.

I will let you know the outcome.

Well they were supposed to incude some foam, packing material etc. before it left Fed Ex/Kinko's
so let me know and if it is necessary I will make concessions....
george

George,

I can either send these back or try to sell them on the board with pictures. They have overspray on them and the aluminum has stains from acid rain or some type of chemical. The best part is the woodgrain but one of the Blazer pieces is pretty bad.

Anyway, let me know what to do either send them back or try to recoup through the board.

John

just tell me what you want to do.... I said in my
FS post that it was a complete set good for a "daily
driver" use.......... and the overspray will easily come off with a little alcohol/thinner and time spent working on them, and a little mothers polish will work wonders on the acid rain/chemical peel.... your call but it would cost more to ship them back to me than it's worth so my recommendation is for you to sell and let me know how much difference I owe....

George,

Let me know your address so I can send these back. I am just going to cut my losses.

John

and please note there is a 20% restocking fee...

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

Restocking fee?Are you a business? Are you paying site vendor fees?Terms must be established at time of sale, not once buyer returns due to lack of pictures and description.
Look at the inconvenience factor on the buyer and you will see it`s a draw.No restocking fee here. Please get this straight.
I`m moving to Bad Deals.Right now it`s only a matter of the restocking fee.Let`s keep it at that.

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

I have since spoken with John about the "restocking' fees and assured him if he will send the moldings back I will issue him a full refund. I also would also like it known John should be put in the 20% category, you know the ones that are never happy no matter what, the ones that want to buy perfect, like new parts for old and used prices. In my post I told the entire true story, "used, good as daily driver" and the tailgate band alone was worth what he paid for the set !!! And I included some additional items/parts as well
to make sure he was satisfied. So having said this my apology to the board
for this becoming an issue and maybe in the future John should by NOS or new reproduction parts.

This is why it is a good idea to post pics of your item for sale. Just a suggestion.

I agree, no pictures leaves a lot to the imagination. Good pictures leaves no doubt.

There is always a different vision on used parts.

But how do you charge 20% restocking on used parts?

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

George,

Here are the Fedex ground tracking numbers:
086277610000366
086277610000359

I find it quite interesting you have stated in your response you have spoken to me about the restocking fee. This is a lie. No PM, phone call or other communication as stated in your thread. This entire issue revolves around your no risk return if I was not happy. I just spent $45 on shipping on a gamble and our conversation with you when I specifically asked questions and wanted to wait for pictures but you assured me you would back it up. No discussion of acid/solvent stains on an annodized piece of aluminum or the paint overspray I would need to clean off. Then you try and add a 20% restocking fee thinking I was going to balk and keep the parts to save me $. It is the principle and not the $.

You can label me what you want, but your actions are speaking much higher volumes than mine.

"first seek to understand, then be understood"

This is a hobby for me....

I will keep this open until I receive my Paypal refund.

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

John did buy N.O.S. from me and paid the asking price straight up.Deals get hairy sometimes for a variety of reasons,no matter how good both party's intentions are.It takes good communicating.Leave nothing assumed.Buyers need to ask and sellers need to answer and offer all known info.Pictures are worth 1,000 words,as they say.The problem is,when we are searching for something and someone says they have it,we see what we want it to be without a picture.I`d rather give too much info and have a buyer walk away than sell a part someone will be disappointed in.

Kudos to you both for working it out. It stings now but a lesson learned on both sides. Been there.

Re: Fs jimmy/blazer lower molding set

Paypal has been received. Only issue I had was a restocking fee for used parts that had a buy back clause in the listing.

I was not or never asked for my shipping funds back, just my original amount. That was part of the gamble in agreeing to buy.

John are you starting another project? I know your GMC don't need anything to make it right I saw it at the XXX last summer.
