Got A New Shop Truck :)
Well after many hours of hounding from the lady here I am.
My name is Dan Brumbaugh, Im 28 & I live in beautiful San Luis Obispo, Ca, right smack dab on the Central Coast. I opened a small HotRod shop just over 4 years ago. Just about a month back I purchased the new shop truck. After searching for sometime I found this 1972 GMC Sierra 3500 in Bakersfield, Ca for $700. Solid body, the 402 ran but needed some TLC. After a little convincing I was able to steal my girl and her Silverado 1/2ton, hooked up my trailer and hit the road. Was quite the adventure, poor Silverado was pushed to the limits but we made it home. After a complete brake job, some removal of certain A/C components and a carb rebuild we were on the road. Still have a lot to do. Exh. valve in #2 seems to be burnt, loosing compression and popping through the exh.. Dropped in an HEI for some reliability over the single points system. But that Mallory Dual Point keeps staring at me. Searching for some smaller chamber 396 heads. Running 113cc Open Chambers and would like to bump the compression a little if I have to work some heads. Transmission is the Granny Geared 4spd, but that wont last too long. A 1970 Muncie #661 M-20 Case with M-22 Gears will soon take its place. Has a flatbed at the moment, poor quality. Looking to upgrade to a nicer quality flatbed or fleetside. Looking to also re-install the saddle tanks just as soon as I acquire a set. I drive her everyday. Here are some pics. P.S. Ditched the Bowtie Caps
