Tach Tin Template
Wanted to see if anyone had, or could create, a tach tin template for those of us not fortunate enough to locate a set of original tach tins. I am aware aftermarket tins are available, but for those hard to find clusters (SW especially) which require other specific attachments, it would be nice if we could modify the original tins we already have.
Anyone? Thanks in advance!

Re: Tach Tin Template
Matthew, the rear tin was punched for the tach. GM probably had two part bins, one prior to punching (non tach) and one after (tach). I don't believe there was an indent that the cutout followed.
if my cluster was out of the truck, I'd hook you up Nato.

Re: Tach Tin Template
I sold a rear tach tin to a guy earlier in the week on ebay but he hasn't paid for it yet if he ends up backing out of the deal I'll let you know. I also have a lense but the numbers are starting to come off it.

Re: Tach Tin Template
Do you need help? I still haven't finished with the tac thread yet. I finally got all the instructions copied for you, but still need to post. The tac still is not installed on the tin yet, I have to order new turn signal card board tubes and find some suitable adhesive. Do you want me to trace the cut out part for you on the tin and mail it to you?
R/ Billy

Re: Tach Tin Template
Let me know what you need, because mine is not put all the way together and not installed yet. That is why I haven't finished the thread yet.

Re: Tach Tin Template
Billy if you wouldn't mind tracing out the cut outs on the front and rear tins, that would be fantastic. As far as mailing it we can work something out on that, but I was hoping to see if we could have a reference point for any member wishing to upgrade their dash without the need to purchase new tins.
Would you mind getting some comparison shots of non-tach tins vs. tach tins? I owe you one Billy!

Re: Tach Tin Template
Here are some pictures for reference for you. The first two are the original non tac back pan and the next pictures are of the new back pan with the tac cut out. This will give you an ideal of what it looks like. I took pictures with measurements, but the ruler didn't come out where you could read it.

Hey Bro,
Your Templates are on the way, but I forgot to put the TAC directions in there for you. I will need to send another letter to ya. That was your surprise. R/ Billy
