eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

I bought 2 GM inner fender wells on Dec. 31 from seller txcustomtrikesandbikes and sent payment in full via PayPal. After 2 weeks I still hadn't received the fender wells and contacted the seller. He told me that the fenders were shipped "Thursday" of the prior week and that I should have received them by now. He said he would call back with a tracking #, which he didn't do.

After sending numerous e:mails and calling several times for the tracking number, I filed a claim through PayPal to get my money back. This dude responded to PayPal by giving them a fake tracking number! That tied my money up for a few more days until PayPal reviewed the claim and recognized the scam. I got my money back in full.

WARNING---the dude has the fender wells listed AGAIN and says in the listing, "relist do to a scamming bidder." Here are the new numbers for the fender wells: 206543894535 and 260543898479. BEWARE!

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

yeah i saw those awhile back. he said he wanted 167.00 each for them. those are oem (he states), not NOS. I would not even pay the 89.00 he's asking now. maybe you should consider becoming a member here, and posting a WTB ad, or look into repops. glad you got your money back...

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

one of the great things about web baords like this one is there is always someone who is close to what or who ever your dealing with.....nothing beats a knock on the door when someone tries to scam another member.....I bought a gear box for my race boat the guy was being kinda a dick about shipping and what not....I mailed my check to a board memeber fill out in the sellers name..he went over to look at the part called me and told me the thing was JUNK...I told him to tell the guy I was going to pass on the deal...the guy was pissed...but the memeber said he was just there to pick up the unit no more or less....after he left he called back to say that the guy was a scammer and the part was nothing like what he described...he tore up my check...we met up about 8 or 9 months later and I bought the beer...well he did save me from buying $1600 worth of JUNK!!!!

we then posted the unit on the board and spead the word about the guy and his location

I would and have done it for a memeber as I'm sure that most of the board memebers would do here..I have even stored some stuff for people till they could get it picked up or get up here to pick it up..and yea I have made a few you need to pass phone calls

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

Thanks, guys, for getting the word out. We filed reports through eBay and his account will be suspended, but that's only under his current name. I guess he could open a new account under a different name and do the same...I'm not sure how eBay will handle it. We even had to put a block on our telephone because since we received our money back from PayPal, we've had 75-100 telephone hangup calls from a "private number." I'm pretty sure where they're coming from!

One thing I can't, and won't, tolerate are scammers and thieves. Again, thanks, Casey

Perhaps it is 72CSTC5, aka Carlos Bernal who still owes me $50 for a part I never received.

What is it about Texas and scammers?

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

Well, another exciting turn of events. Ebay has allowed this seller back on--took him off of suspension. I was doing a search about an hour ago for the same parts and lo, and behold...there they were! Same seller, same items. I called eBay to find out why they let him back on after he sent threatening e:mails and called my wife some choice names, and they replied that they would send him a letter of warning about doing those "bad things" ---in other words, nothing. (As long as they can make money, who cares what kind of seller he is.) My wife has been on eBay since 1997 with 100% positive feedback (and that's putting up and giving into lot of silly buyers to keep good standing), and this dude's been on since December 2009.

I know what happened---I paid $290 for 2 fender wells, which included $120 shipping. But when the seller found out how much the exact shipping charge would be from Texas to Louisiana, he saw how much he undercharged. Ironically, if he would have contacted me to cancel the bid because he grossly underestimated shipping, I would have paid for the difference! I understand how easy it is to miscalculate or underestimate freight charges; I've done it myself. Instead he chose the path of deception

I got money back, but only after filing a claim and waiting for PayPal's review. Here's the new item numbers for the fender wells.... 260544439516 and 260544441570. It lists his location and phone number. Take a look and see if you know this guy---but don't buy from him...he tried scam me, he'll scam others. And most unfortunately (and surprisingly), you can't rely on eBay to screen the bad eggs. --Casey

Thay guy is only about 20 miles from me and I tried to buy those inner fenders as well as a shortbed from him. He is a major flake and I ended up getting repop inner fenders from CertiFit two days ago for $39 each.

What is the seller's feedback? Is it a fairly new account? Hard to trust anybody these days.

Thats where I got mine. Very busy place, don't go around lunch time like I did. But the quality is surprisingly good. I am going to respray mine with Raptor or something like that per Conroe Trucker's suggestion.

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

What a lame excuse using undercharging for shipping.First of all this was only TX to LA.What if the buyer was in Maine? This is on Ebay, not local Craigslist. And,if he underestimated shipping how does that explain holding the good AND money until PayBay get`s involved?I would have just sent the money back and apologized. So PayBay twists his arm,you get your money back, and he`s allowed back on after giving PayBay a lame excuse.PayBay SUCKS!!!

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

Sorry, guys, I can't leave this one alone. This is his write-up in the latest listing, verbatim....

"this is a relist do to a the last bidder trying to scam me and hacked into my account , so if you cant pay and are trying to run a scam dont bid , thanks

up for bid is a original gm 1967 1968 1969 1970 1971 1972 chevy and gmc driver side inner fender lh ,it is in great condition ,

fits all c10 c20 c30 two wheel drive and 4x4 k10 k20 k30 and blazer and suburban trucks ,

this can be shipped easily but do to the size i will have to calculate the crating and shipping cost after the acution ends"

Now I'm a scammer AND a hacker! I'd almost consider the title "hacker" as a compliment, especially since I have trouble just turning the computer on ... But, I'm actually more annoyed at eBay than this dude. He is what he is--a fruitcake--but eBay allowing him back on after everything he did, plus proof that he did it and not just hearsay? I'm also almost 100% sure he's been on eBay under another name--he's only been registered since December '09. Very disappointing. My regards to the next buyer.

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

I have also had problems with eBay sellers in the past. eBay and Paypal have been fairly responsive to the complaints. I would suggest that if you truly feel the transaction was not legit, contact the state where the seller is listing their goods. Many state and counties have "White Collar Fraud Units" that are an extension of the Attorney General office. Also, the federal government has an internet fraud group - as it is an "Interstate Commerce" violation. The paperwork is all available online. I have found this REALLY sends a message.

Don't bother in Texas. I contacted their attorney general about my problem with Mr. Bernal but they didn't see to care. Suck it up, be glad you got your money back, and move on. I put my -$50 issue in the lesson learned column and no longer purchase parts off the parts board here from people I haven't personally met. I won't go near ebay.

I'll do craigslist if I can hold the part in my hand and take it with me after leaving cash money.

Re: eBAY SCAMMER - BEWARE!!!

I don't blame ebay for not banning the guy. They get complaints about guys like him all the time. They took your complaint and investigated it. He has some b.s. reason. They can't spend a bunch of time investigating every claim to see if their reason is legit and determine who is a scammer. They will only ban if the seller has gone with the way of the wind.

The two negative feed backs are like an ebay death sentence. I never buy anything from a seller who even has one negative feedback. Thankfully the seller can't leave a negative slapback in return anymore.

I do sympathize
