Vortec heads, will these headers work?
Getting a new engine with vortec heads and am trying to find some reasonably priced headers that will work with them. Will these?

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
I just bolted up a set of Patriot Clipsters on my Vortec 383 today. They are a few dollars more.

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
Looks like somebody got the same BluePrint 383 I'm ordering as well!...Mind if I ask what was missing from the complete package that you needed also? flexplate obviously - but things like dipstick/pvc/breathers/etc?? Thanks!

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
The main components I had to add were flywheel and starter. Almost everything above the intake is supplied(breathers, pvc, ignition). All that was missing was the water neck and thermostat. Tomorrow my billet pulleys and chrome alternator come in

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
I understand that all the small block headers are the same
correct me if I'm wrong because I bought a set of vortecs to put on my 327 and am looking for an intake....I was told I could reuse my headers??

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
That's my understanding too. I didn't specify Vortec when looking for headers.

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
Small block heads are not all the same as far as the exhaust ports and bolt pattern are concerned. But - Vortec heads and the original heads that came on these trucks are exactly the same (exhaust ports and bolt pattern) so you can buy headers for a '67 - '72 with a small block and don't even worry that you have swapped the heads.

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
Yes, I have stock manifolds. They bolt up and work fine.

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
Don't believe there was a factory 4 barrel intake, Vortec engines were injected, but check out this link: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/cast...bl-171865.html

Re: Vortec heads, will these headers work?
I think they were all TBI from the factory. Edelbrock's basic performer vortec intake is 175 from Jegs which isn't bad...
