Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
If you plan on towing I would just get the drw hubs and spindles for the front and a D70HD rear. I know where there is a nice D70HD for $250. It is 3.73 geared and has new brakes.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
When they are aired down the tops of the tires are leaning in pretty hard though aren't they? It would put the bottom of the tire out so that might work. But to me it sounds like they turn like my 6 door long bed ford is going to.

The housings are the same, other than the mounting for the brake hardware. The narrower track is only a result of the hubs.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
I'm not going to be bagging this truck anytime soon if at all, so it really doesn't matter to me...I just really mentioned it for FYI...
also, I wish Indiana was closer to SC...I'm sure I can find one around here for around that price...what should I pay for the front stuff, hubs, spindles, rotors, calipers? |

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
You're right. I was doing some looking around and everything points to the drw hubs on a standard srw housing. Sorry, I was wrong.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
You might be able to find one of the guys that have been buying Duallys and converting them the SRW trucks. Buy, or even better...trade them for the parts they are pulling off. Just a thought. Sounds like you need to make a classifieds listing of a WTB or WTT.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
19.5s can be bought as direct bolt on so you do not need adapters. The only way a bagged dually can run 22s with single wheel hubs is the large diameter of the wheels allows them to slide over the hubs/brakes/ball joints. 19.5s wont be able to fit. Plus on a stock height truck it would look dumb. For your truck to be both reliable and functional you need to buy a DRW axle (both DANA70HDs and DNA 80s were offered in our tucks) and get DRW rotors for the front also.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
Which chevy trucks had D80's? 92 up maybe? I haven't messed with any of those for a while.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
campers specials i believe. As far as I know all standard width 88-98 body style duallies were FF14 bolts could be wrong though.

Re: Dually Questions... Can I make a dually??
I haven't seen any D80's used in chevy trucks. I could be wrong too, but I've junked quite a few different years of them and never been lucky enough to get a D80 in one.
