Welding 'new' steel to old - how???
I just chiseled the fuel door and the surrounding square foot of fender from a '91 Mazda. Man!, that stuff is THIN, chisel went through it like a hot knife through butter. I plan to trim it and weld this on to the back side of my '67 stepside fender.
I've heard this 'new' steel is high carbon, or something like that. Is there any trick to welding this piece in place? Anything different from the cab corners, rockers, pillars, shaved door handles, roll pan and stake covers that I've already done? C25 & .023 wire ok? Thanks,

Shouldn't be any problem IMO, but I'm by no means an authority on body work.
