Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

If it's true, this is an amazing find. Of course the steering wheel is wrong, and a few other things have me curious, but overall a solid looking original truck.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER...item2558d85f78

1971 Chevrolet C-10 Cheyenne Pickup Truck is a 34K mile vehicle. That's right 34K miles. Boy they don't build them like this anymore. This is the one you have been waitiing for. Built March 5,1971 in Lakewood Georgia. This beauty came equipped with a 250HP 8.5 compression with a super smooth 3 speed automatic transmission, am radio, cold a/c power steering, dual exhaust and woodgrain accenteed exterior. It has a brand new a/c compressor, new radiator, new tires, new exhaust system, owners manual with original sale documents from day one and of course whole bunch of service records! Finished in a Dark Olive exterior with an Olive cloth and vinyl bench interior. Runs and drives perfectly. Need not do anything to this beauty but turn the key and feel comfortable driving it cross country! No fluid or oil leaks. We invite all collectors, dealers and enthusiasts the opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. This garage kept beauty will sell quick so stop reading and start calling. Buy with confidence that this Chevy C-10 pickup truck can be driven anywhere. Buy it, you'll love it. Please call 954 641-0100 to buy now or for questions.

Re: Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

Not real. That truck was a custom deluxe or less that has been converted. Deluxe emblems sit lower than super emblems (they have a bigger gap between the two as per the factory build manual). The a/c vacuum can. is a 70 earlier unit, 71 should have the plastic reservior. The white stripe on the vacuum lines should still be visable at least, they are not. The woodgrained dash and glovebox door do not match and it looks like the door has a 72 emblem- they are very different- 71 is plainer than 72 (lots of scroll). The final things are custom comfort and convience would have never shown up on the spid nor would the chrome front bumper- they were included in the super package. Only trucks that recieved dual exhaust from factory were bb trucks. Looks like a old cloned restore to me.

I'm not buying it either. Too many "valuable" options on this truck for such low miles. And imagine that, a USED CAR DEALER has it.

Scammage.

Re: Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

IF this were the real deal, Who in their right mind would put it on sleezebay with no reserve !

Years ago when in the auto biz I was informed once a older speedo flipped 100,000 the numbers would miss align, Notice the 3 centered in the window and the rest near the bottom ?

Miss represented in so many ways..... But still a nice looking truck for what it REALLY is.

Re: Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

The sad thing is somebody will probably fall for it. A super would not have the molding listed as an option and I think the guages are standard on a Super too.

Re: Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

A real tell tale sign that this is a higher mileage truck than what they claim is the wearing paint around the ignition switch. It is nice though, but not for this price.

This place is just about half hour north of my shop, if anyone is interested in actually buying it and needs me to go check it out I will be happy to do so.
I dont know about options or this or that but I definetly know crap work when I see it or rigs so I can definetly give you an honest description.

by the looks of it seems like a very nice truck indeed...I dont know about 17k but you never know.

Re: Jaw dropper on Ebay: 1971 Chevrolet C-10

I certainly don't know how to identify the errors others have mentioned. What get's me about this truck being an original 34k mi truck is there's no story of who it was bought from and their knowledge of the truck's history. Without that I would be very suspicious. But based on the photos it may well be worth the current selling price and more.
