Factory tire size
In 1972, on the C20 trucks 4x4, what was the tire size that it came with? and if anyone knows the tire manufacturer/models that would be great help too...the truck that I purchased has 35's and I want a more sedate original look. I am pretty sure that I don't really want the 16.5 rims, but rather am thinking of some 16x7.5 plain steel wheels painted white...what do you think?

Re: Factory tire size
If you're interested in original tire size, stick with the 16.5's... That's what it came with. I believe the tire size was somewhere around 33 x 12.50 16.50 on the 4 x 4's. The 2WD came with 9.50 x 16.5 up front.

Re: Factory tire size
There was more that one stock size.... mine came with 7.50-16s, which were tube-type tires on lock-ring wheels. Depending on brand, the tires ran 31" to 32" diameter. 235/85-16 is fairly close to 7.50-16.
There were no stock 33/12.50s, and I'm not aware of any OEM 35" tires offered to the public.
