Lower A-Arms

I need a left lower A-ARM. Would any of you recommend buying a new pair of repo's or take a chance on a used one? It could be bent also. The one in question is bent back and will just barely take a alignment. The repo's come with the cross shaft and bushings at about $280 a pair.

Personally I think I would look for a good used one.

Re: Lower A-Arms

I've hit 2 swap meets in the last month and it seems that everybody is junking the suspension pieces. There is a 4x4 meet coming up but I'm afraid that anything I get there would be crap.

Could be a good time to do a 5 lug disc conversion.

For $25/year,... you could become a subscribing member here.
I'm sure that would make it really easy to find one.

Re: Lower A-Arms

$280 for a set of re-pops would go a long way toward a front disc upgrade. If it was me and they are able to align it the way it is, I'd save my money and source a 73 and up front suspension from a junk yard.

I'm retired and don't have the drive anymore like I used to. I'll probably just let the next guy do all the heavy work.

Re: Lower A-Arms

Send me a PM with what you have.
I assume you have a drum brake truck?
I have a lower a-arm off my '69, so the balljoint should be the same.

tires2burn,...
I see you are a new "subscribing member" now.
Congrats!

Looks like I'll be shipping both control arms, if the shipping is not too much.

Re: Lower A-Arms

Man,...
I forgot how heavy these things are. (60 lbs. boxed up)

You will have to clean them up,... but the balljoints might be OK to run as is.
I'll let you make that call.

I sent you a PM.

Re: Lower A-Arms

OK,... now that you are a subscribing member,...
you can post up some of your extra parts it the classifieds section to offset the cost of shipping these things to you.

That's how great this place works, when you become a site supporter.
Also,... you can post WTB (want to buy) ads, and WIW (what's it worth?) ads.

You'll easily recoupe your $25 investment.
