Scored many of the parts needed for GMC to Chevy swap
I finally came up with many of the parts I need to swap the 4-headlight long bed 72 GMC to the short bed 2-headlight 71-72 Chevy setup. I found a guy locally who is moving and wanted to sell a bunch of his truck stuff. I got a 69-72 short bed rolling chassis for $125 and a front clip (hood, fenders, inner fenders, core support, wiring harness and condenser) for $100. The fenders need a little work but nothing bad. Now it’s off to the sand blaster for the frame. I have been told over and over the 69-72 Chevy core support is needed for this swap but as it turns out all that is needed are the mounting brackets. The brackets are spot welded which are easily drilled out.

Nice score on the shorty frame. I have a 72 Blazer front clip that I'll swap for your GMC front clip. I'm in Austin as well, but will have to run up to Evant for the clip. Let me know if you are interested. I also have a 72 Suburban with front clip I would sell/swap. Anything else you need/want to swap for?
