What Are You Using For Line-X Reabilitation

I looked in the search and couldnt find much on what works the best to bring back the original color of black Line-X in my bed..

Any one got a real good cleaner sugestion that drys and works for a couple months or so? Or Longer .

Just throwing it out there ,I wonder if a good soaking of linseed oil or deck sealer which is mainly oil would last a while

How do u like Line-X? Can u post some pics. They now have X-tra- uv coating that protects against fading. Looking to get my dad's 84 pickup Line-X d in a few months.

I don't know about Line-X but my shop sells Rhino and they have a product call Rhino shine. It is a dye. Brush it on ad it looks like new. We sometimes spray a bedside for a bodyshop on a repaired truck and we use rhino shine on the rest of the bed to make the truck look uniform. Can't tell from old to new.

Did you buy the Line-X top coat when you originally had it installed? If you did and it now looks dull, I think they warranty it. If you didn't, I don't think anything will KEEP it looking glossy/shiny.

I bought a new 2008 Chevy 3500HD Crew Dually in December 2008. I had it Line-X'd within a couple weeks. I carry a huge Lance 1181 11-1/2', 4400 lb. camper in mine and it HAS rubbed the Line-X raw but not through in a couple of places already. I've carried the camper probably 7-8 times since I bought it.

It's not too surprising because there are a couple places where the camper fits tightly when I load it and there is (I guess) some minimal movement even though it is tied down.

Overall, I am please with it. It IS protecting my bed but it will not stay looking "new" like I wish it would. I occasionally wipe it down with a rag with tire dressing on it. It helps, but mine is already glossy because of the Line-X clear coat so I consider this just maintenance.

Just threw in a picture of my truck the day I brought it home and one of the first trips I took with the camper on it. Oh, and Sooner the Wonder Dog in the back seat.

no no,,still around just been busy ..as for the linseed oil I am thinking that it wouldn't soak in and be just plain "oily" I bought a new 65 chevy truck and it had wooden boards in the bed and I used linseed oil religiously and it still warped ,,not a fan of using it for that either.. thanks anyway though ,,will still keep it in mind.. As I get older the more I do not rule things out . LOL

I really like it for it being tough and when I haul stuff like planks ,scaffolding ,,ect ect ,it stays pretty much in one place and doesn't slide out like when I had a liner in one of my other trucks and I dumped a whole load of material into the center of a intersection .. I gunned it to much to get myself into traffic and found out that was NOT the thing to do.. LOL

thanks ,,I will check on this product at the Chevy dealer that does the Line-x in my area.. I was thinking of Armorall ,,but do not want something to make it slick and armaorall will do that to your floor mats for sure..

I bought the truck used so cant do the warrenty thing .. maybe I can find something that will last a couple months at a time .

I have a few places that look like some of the roughness is rubbed off ,,but nothing all the way to the metal .. I think it is prety good ,just needs a face lift.

thanks for the pciture of a dream truck . great place to keep it looking good in California also. Up here it rains and mildews and rains some more and takes the shine off a car or truck in a hurry.. I have mine under cover every night but in the day it gtakes a beaten..

If I were still a camping ,,I would be asking you all about your truck ,just so I could go buy one and know all the things about it . Man , that is one fine truck .. Gopapa here doing good.

I really liked my '02 Dodge Ram crew Sports Edition even though it had the little 4.7 in it. The Hemi didn't come in them until the '03 model and I was buying used. I just got too good a deal to pass up. Ultimately, the 4.7 was just fine. It wouldn't win any drag races (the Hemi would) but it was plenty powerful enough to tow my Jetski's. Deciding to get the camper changed all that. And I wouldn't have bought a dually if I hadn't come upon a great deal on that camper used in Colorado. I only bought new because GM was going under in Nov/Dec '08 and they were discounting heavily to get the 3500's and especially the duallies off their lots. My plan was to buy a 2500 crew short bed...but Lance says you HAVE to carry the 1181's and 1191's with a dually. So it all worked out.

My truck doesn't fit in my garage so I have to be on it with washing and waxing regularly...and that is a helluva job on something this big. Be thankful you DON'T have one if you like keeping your vehicles looking nice! Best, Dan
