Re: Dropmembered trucks

Looks great, but I don't think it's a "Dropmember", by the conventional standard. Looks like very nice, high quality parts, which have come to be expected from SD...

Even though all these cross members are actually raised up into the frame
it"s still a crossmember that allows my truck to drop to the ground. Hence the term "dropmember" . Thanks for all the comments guys

Billet Specialties Vintec wheels are Billet Specialties wheels. Budnik Famosas are Budnik wheels.... A Vintec & a Famosa are both round, billet, 5-window style wheels that are not the same.

The Dropmember is Porterbuilt Streetrods replacement crossmember. Other companies use different terminology to describe theirs. There is a difference. Subtle difference, but a difference no less.

Nice job on yours BTW.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Dropmembered trucks

There is a lot of Man Love for Nate over here. Nate builds the Drop Member and Suicide Doors makes the Raised Crossmember. Both accomplish the same thing. Thanks for sharing your build

It's not man love. I'd do the same thing if someone insisted on calling a Coy C-5 wheel a Torq-Thrust; a Vintec a Famosa; or a re-pop part NOS just because it's new. Lets just coin a new name: Swapmember (aftermarket c.members for extreme drops) .

Here are some front shots of my buddy and fellow Dallas PickupsNPanels member.

It is a 65 LWB, I am going to get the same headers made he has. 1 & 7/8 equal length long tubes.

My wife just does not even ask anymore. She will call me and say "you have a bunch of boxes at the front door, do I even want to know" and I say "never ask a question you really dont want the answer to" LOL>

Re: Dropmembered trucks

Nice. I'm over in Pensacola working on the same thing. I think I scored a suburban frame that I'll paint then put all the pb stuff on then swap frames. I can hear the snow ball rolling down the hill now...... Once the burb comes off the frame all bets are off.
