That's it. We're not BS'ing you. It has it in the instructions for replacing bushings.

No luck burning them out. They smolder and smoke and kinda fall/scrape away but the bolt it still stuck in there. Tried to cut the head off the bolt and it just seemed to dull my saw blades...

Any other techniques?

Rather than get frustrated I moved on to tearing down the front axle.
