wilwood d52 calipers
Just curious to see if any of you guys have used wilwood d52 calipers. they look really cool for one. The stock caliper is single piston, the wilwood is twin. Any feedback would be great. I ordered a set today. If nobody has used them, maybe I'll be the guinea pig.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
Looks like a nice alternative to stock . Is the price for a pair or a single caliper?

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
Ive been trying to do tons of research. the best i can tell they bolt to stock spindles, use stock rotors and pads. The price is each, Sucks!!! I think their going to look killer though. especially with a rear kit also.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
They make them for both the 1" front rotors and the 1.25" front rotors.
Make sure you get the correct caliper.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
I think CPP was selling them for $300 per pair with braided lines. There are treads in the suspension forum.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
I found the cpp site but didnt find these calipers. as far as bolting right up, I hope so. all i know these things look way cooler in person. I wish they would have been a lil cheaper.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
will they work with those put together rear kits that guys get the parts off of other car to do the rear kit? anyone have a parts list of what need to do the rear like that? I might be able to get the parts new and instead of buying stock calipers just buy those the first time around.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
they will bolt right up. but the factory brake lines wont. I am trying to come up with a way to use my factory lines. wilwood wants you to use a brake line kit. thats fine no problem. dont tell people they will bolt right up. they need to tell customers they need brake lines as well. I called them today and they told me this. would have been nice to know before hand.
I told the tech they dont just bolt up. he told me technically they do bolt up. I was not amused.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
staggered, they will work with a blackbird kit, they use d52 style calipers.

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
I finally got the new calipers installed and are working. I will tell you how i did it and how i would recommend others to do this upgrade.
how i did it was i used the factory brake hose which takes a 10mm banjo bolt. the new wilwood caliper has 7/16 threads. i drilled out the factory brake hose block(very carefully) to accept a 7/16 banjo bolt. and it bolted up fine and bled well. seems to be working with no problems. I recommend buying new braided brakelines that will bolt right up without going through all of the crap that i did. well i hope this helps anyone that wants to do this upgrade. [IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Re: wilwood d52 calipers
Thanks man! As far as their performance. I just did the brakes on my truck before i ordered these calipers so my brakes were really good. I cant tell a huge difference. I was really just going for the look. As far as the 4x4 i am not familiar with them. Next will be a wilwood rear disc conversion to finish the look.
