Well this old man stepped on his tongue today. I have a 69 c-10 in my shop, and it had a cheapo floor shifter in it that was worn out. I told the owner I had everything he needed to make it a TOT. Well, I almost had everything. My 69 was a TOT, but mine is a v-8, his is a six. The frame engine mounts on mine are in the front two holes, and his are in the rear two holes. I have what I think is the correct rods that run from the column to the trans, but IF all of you 6 cyl guys would help a brother out with a picture or two My morning might go better

I would also be much appreciative of this

Isn't the transmission in the same location for both applications?

I know that the engine mounts are different. IF the trans was 4" or so forward I would be done by now. I am assuming that the shift linkage is a bit longer. I have a good friend that has a small junkyard, and went to him this afternoon. he gave me a set of linage from what he says was a 6cyl TOT. They are a bit longer, and hopefully will work.

This thinking thing is giving me a headache!

there is a u shaped bracket that connects to the block for the z bar, do you have the z bar?

I think the bracket on the frame is different between the 6's and 8's. I have some pics, but I need to find them. I'll go look.

thanks for all of the help, but I guess I did not ask the correct question. Are the shift rods longer for a 6cyl ? the two rods that run from the column to the trans. My friend gave me a set that look similar, but are longer. Which is what I think I need.

the two longer **** rods were the cure. A new day, a better attitude, and wa la! The three on the tree lives another day!
