new to this site!
Hi everyone my name is Brent. I have been building custom trucks ever since my teens starting with mini trucks. always had a soft spot for the s-10s and never really got into the older trucks until i was in my mid twenties. Ive done alot of custom work for other people but never really took the time to build something for myself. three years ago I decided with the help from friends to build a 1948 chevy ratrod with abunch of parts that I had saved up over the years and bought an s-10 from a friend for the chassis.in a few weeks my friends and I had build my first real hotrod. Ive been collecting them ever since. currently I have a 1937 chevrolet car in the works as well as a 1957 chevy truck. the truck has been abandened for the last few years but after reading some of these builds I have decided to jump back into it, and worked on it all day yesterday after dragging it out of the snow bank. If anyones interested in seeing my build picts just let me know. there not the greatest, but there are neat to look at.

Re: new to this site!
If you don't know how to re-size them you can open a free Photo Bucket account and up-load them there, Then copy/paste the photo image links here.
If you do it this way do not move the pictures or reorganize them there or the links will go dead here.

Re: new to this site!
this cab was found by a friend of mine hiding in the bush near a river bank. it has been there for awhile without a doubt. this was the begining of my project truck. this is all I had when I decided to build a truck.

Re: new to this site!
got this 57 chevy from a friend. it was an old parts truck he had and he was moving so it was for the taking. here is the begining of the frame build. I have a frame table but had lent it to a friend and have yet to get it back. the frame steel is 2x4 by 1/8.

Re: new to this site!
these picts show how I grafted on the trans am clip. I raised the clip two inchs in order to get a little free lowering job. at this point I still had no cab, but I knew it would find me when the time was right.

Re: new to this site!
heres adding the rear crossmember. I sleaved the frame and crossmembers with two inch boiler pipe. thought it would be cool, but wasnt really to keen on the idea after getting started!!

Re: new to this site!
hey as luck would have it, one of my friends was going to build a mud bogger, but gave up and I scored a cab. I had the front fenders sitting in the back yard. I remember finding them at the dump when I was a kid and my dad saying to me(when in the hell are you ever going to use thoughs?) well guess what I found a use. lol

Re: new to this site!
and now for that back window!! this took me hours to cut apart and clean up. I thought I could install it in one piece, but not so. there was a few bullet holes in the big window frame so I worked around the damaged areas.
