Arrow Meet LeAnn, my 79 C10

Bought this 79 C10 about a month ago for $800, and named her LeAnn. Needs some work done to it. truck was lowered when I bought it, so have no idea what the specs are. I joined the forum about 2 months ago when I had my eye on the truck and have found some pretty interesting ideas for Leann, but I am going to try and just do it my way but still incorporating some ideas I found on the forum.

First pic is the day I brought her home. 2nd pic is with the old school Saw Blade rims I bought for her.

Current plans:

Going to change the bed to a Stepside.
Replace the rear end, they messed it up when lowering it.
Replace the radiator - is leaking pretty bad.
Respray with a 2 tone. Silver with top of cab and hood midnight blue.

Will post pics as I progress.

LeAnn looks like a good deal... and i like the name (my granddaughters name too) and the plans seem real cool.... you may want to start a build thread on this but please continue to post away in here too!
good luck to you and your project

Thanks

I am going to go and take off the bed from the truck in this pic, and start the ball rolling on changing the beds.

I will be taking pics as I progress, and post them.

Thanks Rusty

I will start a build thread, as soon as I have enough pics to post, probably once I have the beds swopped and have started undercoating and primer.

The PO did a real number on the rear end when they dropped it. The main reason he sold the truck was because he could not figure out how to repair the hatch job. That's why I got a new/used rear end and just gonna replace it.
BTW, I like the brown too, but for some reason, (this may sound foolish), but LeAnn and the color brown do not gel for me. Gonna go with a Silver and Midnight Blue 2-tone that just screams LeAnn!

Re: Meet LeAnn, my 79 C10

bro.
i beg of you.
PLEASE PLEASE.....
leave your truck brown.
get some nice wheels and fix the suspension and spend money that was going to go to paint and you can completely redo the suspension and fix all the other stuff.

ohh and dont change the bed either, bro i just love your truck the way it is.

that is almost exactly what i want for my next project.

The wheels of change are turning already my brother! I started a new thread under Projects and builds, where you can check out what I have done so far. I was tempted to leave it brown, but this being my first project/build, i really wanted to make this truck uniquely mine and a new paint job is part of that endeavor. Sorry!

Re: Meet LeAnn, my 79 C10

Why in the world would you want to put a stepside bed on this truck > ok MY BAD - to each his own - the steppers look good on the 67-72's & to some degree 73-80's , but not on the 81-87's . Only my 2 cents worth > do what gets yoiur fancy

You did include my 79 in the "to some degree" area but you said it,to each his own. I love the stepside look, and I agree with you, that they do not suit all the models, but once the truck is done, I will value your opinion on whether I hit the mark with my choice or not!

That will look pretty sweet!
Tell you what, I will wait with great eagerness for your next build! Seems that you have your next build set up in your mind already! Maybe it is time to go find the next clunker and turn it into a nubian delight!
