i started out with less in mind to fix on my 72, but ended up spending 10 times as much money as i thought i would, and taking 3 years to complete.

Wanted a Chev, bought a clean GMC...just change the grill & tailgate, right?? Won't be a frame off, but the only original metal will be the cab when it's done!!

I've been so close to doing a frame off twice.....I considered it when the 1st engine went south (I wasn't upset because it was a 305 and I wanted a 350 anyway). The second was when a rock knocked out the back window and I changed cabs. I can't bring myself to leave it down more than 2 weeks at a time. I enjoy driving it too much.

Not quite a frame off, wanted to lower it a bit and put on new wheels. While under the cab found the rust. Just started cutting........................

bought the truck thinking I could just take some rubbing compound to it, and it would be ok, turned out it was faded lacquer paint, my painter looked at it and said strip it, the rest is history

Pixel "depth" may be too high. For the web anything more than 72 is wasted. Also, for jpegs, there is a quality factor in the algorithm. Set it to 50% and your pics will look just fine, but you'll be able to make them larger-- usually 8.33" on the long side.

Carb went bad and hasn't seen the road since. But it's lookin' like a truck again. Rebuilt the motor, tranny, interior, shaved the trim and replaced everthing that needed replacing. So about another grand or so and hopefully I'll be drivin' it again!!!!

Got a free 402 for some work I did to a friends car. Just wanted to have a little tweaking done to the heads to pep it up. Engine builder wanted to do the whole motor. I said not interested. He went over to his Malibu with a built 454, reached in, turned the key. Fired off first touch and rumbled like only a built BB can. Said "yours will sound just like this!" I dropped the block off two days later. That was a year ago. Bed still off, all new interior, new bed boards, the list seems endless. I just wanted to juice it up a bit. LOL.
