Possibly The Wrong balancer/flywheel??

Alright guys i have a 84 chevy swb with a 400 smallblock out of a 77, i bought it not knowing any history anyways i noticed it seems to run kinda rough but is there any way to tell what flywheel i have? by serial number or something. or can i look for a specific weight attached for the correct one? i heard 350s are internally balanced and 400 externally

350's internally? if ur talkn about the crank, every motor is... balancers...i dont know the years, but most pre79?'s are externally balanced /w/ a balancer.

400's, i dont know, sorry. im not a fan.
