One barrel

I have a "modified" air cleaner on a 230ci. I want to get a different air cleaner for it but I cant find any that fit a one barrel rochester.

Any thought or tips?

Thanks
Greg

Re: One barrel

If you go into your auto parts store, if they have a speed section, you should find a plastic adapter that will go from the four barrel to a single barrel. I got mine at Shucks.

Re: One barrel

Okay, let me clarify. I have seen the adaptors for size. What I am wondering about is, how does the air cleaner attach to a one barrel carb?

Any pics would help too.

Re: One barrel

It sandwhiches between the bottom of the air cleaner and top of carb.

Re: One barrel

Got it thanks. How does the air cleaner attach to the carb?

I know it bolts on, but it can't go straight down or it will hit the butterfly.

Re: One barrel

mine had a metal bracket that was attached to the top of the carb and had a bolt sticking up. I just added a long nut, I think they call them a turn buckle, and added some more rod.
