Fried some rice today!

I've had my rebuilt 350 broken in for some time now, & I haven't really "tested" it yet, but I did today. I was just cruising along, minding my own, and this H*nda slipped beside me, revving his glorified lawn mower "engine" with 4" exhaust. He took off, & I laid into it...5 seconds later, he was in my rear views. When he caught up to me at the red light, he wouldn't look at me! When are these guys gonna learn?

Had something like this happen to me a few years back in my old '70 beater I used to have. Smoked a rice burner and they couldn't believe that an old fugly looking truck like mine (It really was ugly) just BLEW their doors off. Turned out that they worked at the same plant that I did back then. Muttered something like this the next day: That truck sure isn't much to look at but it sure runs good. I just shook my head and laughed.

They're used to racing each other, and get to thinking they have a "fast car". They just don't understand, it's like a chihuaha taking on a pit bull, till they get chewed up, and spit out!!

People like that are really starting to piss me off lately. You can't go for a ride anymore without someone challanging you.

You should try driving a Chevelle! Most times, I like to just cruise. I can't race everyone. If I did, my car would be a POS from abuse. These young guys are just jealous because we have real iron.

Im gonna start running them off the road instead. I think I'll go watch that movie, "The car" now. :p

getting a sliver of pop-corn out from the side of your tooth and gum!!!

4 cyl just aint right as it is!!!

Ask any one who has a V-8
If you only have 4 cylinders theres a problem!!!

Like being a couple of cans short of a 6 pack

I don't think you could abuse that 409 racing a import, I would think a light excelleration should take care of them, In all fairness to the ricers what north american car can they fix up theses days, the only so called muscle car left might be the mustang and thats stretching it, when we were young there was lots of muscle cars around like that beautiful chevelle of yours, and theses young guys have imports our auto makers have let our young road racers down, they don't really offer anything that compares

reminds me of what i told a guy the other day when he asked me to race him at school. I told him to come ask when he had a real car to drive and then he told me to go f myself, and it then escaladed from there.

Thats one thing that scares me these days. The little pussies that try to race all the time with their no-go cars. Thats why I try to avoid being in the front line at lights when I go to the city. Sure maybe their car can't exceed the speed limit from light to light and will probably just chirp the tires when they dump the clutch at 5 grand, giving no reason for people to call the cops. On the other hand my truck is loud to the point where I would get the attention of everyone in a couple of blocks. Thats just looking for trouble. Shouldn't be too hard for the cops to find the purple truck with silver flames, "Cobras" in the rear window and "GMC" on the customized rear end. But I guess its not their fault, where else can they take their cars? Not the drag strip, they would have to look at the numbers then......wouldn't want to hurt that ego.....

SWINGSAX68, my 350 is nothing really out of the ordinary or glamourous. Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, Hedman headers, turbo 350 tranny. By breaking it in I just mean taking it easy for 500-600 miles, driving it "normally" for the next few hundred, and considering it broken in around 2000 miles.

Smoking rice is fun indeed! I have only raced one rice burner, and i won. It was a '96 Mazda miata. The kid driving it went on and on about how bad he was gonna smoke my truck, and afterschool we went out to a seclueded strip of blacktop and lined 'em up. I ended up winning by about two carlenghts, not a great victory, but good enough for a mostly stock 350 in a 4000lb truck. The best part was seeing the look of discouragement on the guys face after i won....

ROFLMAO! Does'nt have to be a rice-a roni. A 302 EFI or a Z71 with a cat-back and super chip will do. Die smog machine, die! Carbs and dual exhaust rule!

People who drive ricers, only try to race you because they think you are slow........Let's face it .....most trucks are slow. They think you have a stock truck with a loud exhaust......just like their cars. It's just funny when you open it up and show them what power really is. If they actually thought you were fast, they wouldn't even look your way. I have only been challenged by a ricer once in my camaro.....and it was in the middle of a traffic jam.....LOL

It seems the only people that try to race me when i drive the truck are others in 67-72 Chevies, lol. I had a '67 GMC try to pass me on the freeway the other day, it must have had a 250 or something, because it could barley get out of its own way (no offense 6 cylinder guys). I have never had a rice burner challenge me in traffic, most of my races i arranged during school, lol.

I kinda agree with sbc350gearhead, i am not going to go around challenging LS1 Camaros, 4.6 rust-stangs, or corvettes with my 15 second truck. No point wasting my gas and risking a ticket if i know i would loose, lol.

Don't get me wrong, I usually stay away from "other" rods like St@ngs and the like...I just give the ricers no respect like they deserve.
