Bumper color

I have 5 1967 rims I had power coated gloss black. My C-10 stepside is a medium blue. Does anyone have any thoughts on if I should power coat the bumpers, headlight besels, and front mouldings black or white. Any pictures would help me make up my mind. Having the 5 rims done were expensive so I would not really want to have them redone in white. White was what they should have been done in to begin with. My mistake!

Re: Bumper color

I think, for the most part, that the painted bumper color, along with the other trim parts, were all white. The body color dictated what color the tailgate lettering was, either black or white. Dark colors got the white, while white trucks (and maybe a few other light colors) got black lettering. As you said, the wheels were white, although some were argent. If I remember right, the grille was also white. Bright trim on the grille was an option that became standard in '68.

I work with a friend who has a '67 LWB that he bought right after the '68's came out.

Re: Bumper color

If you have a base model 67, black is the correct color for rims with solid paint bodies. Front ends take alot of road pebble abuse, so I would recommend powdercoating the correct white color.
