Who has used the Lokar automatic floor shifters?
I'm thinking of moving my auto shift on the column to floor shift in my 69 C20 w/ TH350. I need a new column anyway. I know some of you have used the Lokar floor shifters. Has anyone used the Lokar Nostalgia or other direct mount shifters from Lokar? I'm thinking of going with a 16" shift handle. Lokar is telling me I can use the direct linkage type, but I want to make sure the shifter doesn't hit the dash or my console.
Has anyone used the Lokar boots with shift indication? Or do you just go by feel?

Re: Who has used the Lokar automatic floor shifters?
i've used thier shifters on a number of projects all with the longest stick available , never a problem as they have great adjustability as well as top-o-the-line quality

Did you use direct or cable linkage? What about shift indication?

I have used the direct hook up. I also used the boot with the shift indicator in it. Real Nice! If you do that get the backup light switch to go along with it.

Re: Who has used the Lokar automatic floor shifters?
This sounds like the way I'm gonna go. Does anyone have any pictures of the Lokar with the direct connection? I'd like to see what the Nostalgia shifter looks like installed. Plus, I want to see where the shifter lands on the hump.
Has anyone else used the shifter position indicator or just by feel?

Re: Who has used the Lokar automatic floor shifters?
I've also used Lokar shifters in many projects. They are top notch. I've used their kick down and throttle cables, brackets, pedals and such and have always been real happy. I just shift by feel. Doesn't take very long to get use to it. Don't have any pics but using the linkage isn't too tough. Cable linkage is real nice but spendy.

Re: Who has used the Lokar automatic floor shifters?
It looks like I'm gonna go Lokar except I can't figure out floor mount model or trans mount model. Lokar is saying FMS6350BN, which the shifter is mounted to the floor hump. I like the Nostalgia model, but its mounted on the trans. I'm worried about the amount of space between the trans and the bottom of the floor pan. There's a lot of space between the trans and floor. I would think I'd have to cut a huge hole for the shifter handle throw. Does anyone know about this? or what Lokar models are best suited for these trucks?
