1974 Jeep Grand Cherokee Dana 44 Brake Compatibility
My brother is a Jeep guy, and hauled home a 74 Jeep Grand Cherokee for parts. I noticed that it has a Dana 44 front and has disc brakes. Is the disc brake caliper bracket the same between the two makes? I have a 69 Dana, but it has been converted to open knuckels.
(Before I get a thousand replies to swap just swap axles, to make it easy to get disc brakes, I am currently looking for one, but I wanted to explore all my options) Thanks! |

Caliper bracket should be the same.
FSJ and Chevy's used the same knuckles, spindles, outer axle shafts, bearings, calipers and brackets, rotors, etc. Could just swap knuckles out and replace the ball joints so they are fresh. |

I will definately snap up the brackets, my brother needs some of the axle parts to go on his 77 Cherokee. I'm going to pick up new hubs/spindles/rotors. This will save some dinero though!
