What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
I am at a cross roads here. I just got a truck and it needs a fleet bed. I have one but it has repop bedsides. I have searched for two days on here and not found anything to give me that "warm and fuzzy" feeling about using them. What are your experiences with them as far as quality, fit, how they hold up, comparison to origional (whats the thickness difference), origional tailgate fit, and so on.
Thanks for the help!! Oh ya, pics coming soon of the new ride. Brian

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
Just for info we have had no complaints about the bedsides from anyone. Not like some parts. Here is a pic of a members truck who used TriPlus brand bedsides on a show truck and he had no complaints about the fit. He would have compained to if they did not

The only issue we ran into on "project cod fish" was that the rear rev. lights were extremely tight

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
I used a Goodmark swb bedside on my '71 right after they came out and it fit great, my bodyman was very impressed. Coming from a guy fitting panels all day I'd say they're good.

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
I picked up my bedsides from ECE. Fit was good but nothing on my bed is original. It's a mix of new parts from Mar-K and ECE. Overall I am happy with the purchase. Cosmetically speaking, my only complaint is with the visible spot welds running along the inside edge that runs lengthwise along the top. I'm having the body smooth them out. Not sure if other brands have the same design.

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
Got a call today from the body shop. They are complaining about the thin gauge of the bedsides (18 guauge). They are welding sheet metal over the side markers to complete the shaved look and are having trouble with warpage. 18 is pretty typical for aftermarket bedsides so I guess they'll have to make due.

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
From a body man, ME, they are way thin, the tops of the box rails are all rippled and need a skim coat of mud and the tail lights and BU lights fit like crap. But for the price not too bad. A chisle and a hammer are the best fix for the tail light and BU light fitment. Bend to fit.

Re: What problems if any with repop SWB bedsides??
I have a complete repop bed on my truck....my body guy said it surprisingly fit together well....I think they are thin gauge though, and as Southern C10 said the tail lights didn't fit all that great
