I want to put the newer style window mount mirrors on my truck now that I have got the one piece window kit in. Has anyone ever seen the newer style mirrors on one of our trucks. Mabe off from 88-98 era trucks, or any window mount mirror in this case. Any info on this will help.

Hey CB,
I've seen a few pics of our trucks w/the newer style mirrors. They look pretty good, especially if your truck has a lot of mods. I've also seen people use small billet mirrors (almost like the ones for Harleys) mounted on the billet plate. There are some really cool designs out there! Anyway, I don't have any pics myself, but I'm sure some people here do.
BTW, glad to see another person from Gilbert on here!

I put newer style sport mirrors, and I think it looks good. I guess it all depends on what style you want.

I love those sport mirrors and will put some on but the truck along with the one-piece glass. I also think the truck has to be modified for them to look really good.

You can attach a larger piece of 3/16 or 1/4 aluminum to the outside of the filler piece supplied with the kit by through bolting it with flathead phillips and nylock nuts (nuts on the inside behind the channel seal ) or welding, then attach the mirrors to the larger piece by counter sinking and using flat or oval head phillips stainless 1/4-20 or metric if the mirrors are newer.

What year of truck mirrors will work the best in place of the vent window? Where can i buy aftermarket mirrors for that perticular year of truck?

I think the mirrors you want are for the 88-98 GM fullsize pickups. There are many places where you can order them from. A few are StylinConcepts.com, GodfatherCustoms.com, and Sporttruck.com. Like I said, there are many more places out there. Good luck, and post some pics when you're done!

i would also be interested in this mod but i have gone to the trounble of buying the mirrors from 88-98 chevy trucks and i held them up to my truck and it looks like the angel is just too much to compensate for. it can be done i'm just not sure those are the mirrors. if i'm wrong please correct me and show me how to do it PLEASE!!!

Uno, I am pretty sure that I have always read that the 88-98 mirrors fit. But, since you have them in your hand and they don't, then I'm not sure what to tell ya. Mothertruckers should know since he sells the kit.....

I don't know about the 88 up truck mirrors, we went scrounging junk yards that dealt in newer parts and found suv and foreign car mirrors that would work that had a nice profile. 1 set was from a 93 hyundai and i believe either honda or toyota looked pretty close also then we found a 74 olds cutlass supreme with chrome racing style mirrors.( Let your imagination go and see what you come up with) quote. ( Frank Lloyd Write ) or was it George Barris? maybe Ed Roth.

I bought a set on sport mirrors (which are aftermarket for the 88 - 98 chevy trucks) from AIM Industries in Mesa Az for $39.99 a set. The "window frame to mirror angle" is off a noticable amount...Imight be able to grind away the plastic to change the angle to make them fit but im kind of stuck on which direction to go right now. Personally Id like to be able to bolt something directily on for once (impossible). If anyone has any other options, or tips on a better way to modify these mirrors to fit PLEASE let me know.

Ill have to look into the 93 hyundai mirrors. Has anyone put these on their truck? pics?

I just got another set of mirrors. These ones were off of a 88-99 body style chevy 1500 SS truck. If anyone plans to put new style mindow mount mirrors on their truck......these mirrors are made out of medal so if you can weild, you could make them fit correctly in the window frame pretty easily. (If your not into the fabrication rute, they will look decent with out changing the angle.) Before I make a decission on what mirrors to put on my truck I would love to see more pics of these mirrors on our year of trucks. Please poast if you have pics!

Why not use an original style mirror? They still look good with the one piece glass and they will just bolt on to the truck.
