Fuel cell sending unit.
Does anyone know how long a sending unit is, from the mounting flange to the bottom of the tube, for a 63-66 Suburban? Would it work in a fuell cell?
looking to put this... http://www.classicparts.com/1963-66-...tinfo/23-528B/ ...in this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-291220D/ If the sending unit is too long would it be possible to cut the bottom off, cap the top off and just use it for the fuel gauge and run the fuel line from one of the outlets on the bottom of the fuel cell?

Re: Fuel cell sending unit.
The '63-'66 Suburban gas tank is about 10-10.5" deep (couldn't get an accurate measurement right now) so the depth is real close. Yes you should be able to modify the sending unit slightly to be able to use it in that fuel cell. Probably the biggest challenge will be mounting it to the fuel cell since the OEM sender just drops into the recess in the top of the tank with an O-ring and is held down with a twist in lock ring. The fuel cells typically are setup to use a 5 hole bolt on sending unit.
