Look what I found at Wal-Mart

I found this little scutter at Wallyworld the other day. It's the only one they had and it was even in the wrong section. I thought it was pretty sweet, so I had to snatch it up.

looks like a phantom grille to me instead of a stock grille.

Re: Look what I found at Wal-Mart

its the same phantom grill on this as the other 25 or so paint jobs they've given this casting.
I haven't seen this one... guess I need to start hitting the toy section again.

Danged is right!!!!! The wal-mart employees know and have cornered the market on anything collectable from my small town. When they open the boxes the employees remove the two special edition cars and anything sought after by the locals and then we are left with nothing. I have to go to the Colby swap meet in San Diego or catch a special deal to find one. All of my 1967 step side hotwheels have billet grills including my special nascar edition one. I found a silver one with a red grill over the holiday in a 6 car blister pac. I took it and gave the rest to my nephew. Great thread, just wanted to share in your frustration, because I can relate. Special note, Brothers trucks sell red 1967 step sides versions specially ordered from Mattel.

Re: Look what I found at Wal-Mart

cool, are these like collectibles or something and hard to find? I thought maybe they made them still all the time?

I thought there was a section for die-cast stuff, but I couldn't find it. I didn't think to look in the GD section.

The WalMart employees don't scrounge up the good stuff, but the locals hit the stores about 3am right after the shelves are stocked to get the good stuff here.

Re: Look what I found at Wal-Mart

Here's one I found at Wal-Mart a few years ago, sorry it's a crappy cell phone pic. I didn't realize that they were so hard to find. After reading this thread I think I will take more trips to Wal-Mart with the wife, maybe I can grab up a few more. I doubt the Wal-Marts here in Alberta are scrounging up the 67-72 die cast.

Re: Look what I found at Wal-Mart

These are the trucks Brothers sells on their floor. If you are really wanting one, contact brothers here in LA and ask about the red ones. Good Luck!
