Been working on my dually, What do you think?

Well i have been working on my dually, got it about a month ago, im just trying to get it running and to pass inspection, and look good, not show good but just a good driver, im on a low budget what should i do next?
heres some of the things ive had done

Rebuilt carburetor
rewired most of the truck, changed most wiring
Got ac working
replaced door locks as i didnt have a key
got a tune up
replaced fuel filters
clean gas tanks
painted the rims
painted the grille

next I will be doing shortly
some of the problems are
figure out where the power steering is leaking from
exhaust manifold has a leak, im thinking its bended and it wont create a seal
A/c air coming from the bottom of the dash, not the top or front
broken dually fender, get it patched or replace?

Any assistance with the problems would be appreciated,

Re: Been working on my dually, What do you think?

the ac problem is likely a vacuum line. if it is not hooked up the flappers wont swap. the supply line goes into the firewall from teh engine bay

SatisTraction, do you have a pic on where the ac should be hooked up, or where does the vacuum line connect to? carb? intake manifold? im lost on this one, first time messing with ac, but got most of it working.
And yeah, the black wheels made it look better, well my opinion, I feel that the front should be dropped a bit maybe an inch.

Re: Been working on my dually, What do you think?

Keep in mind you have a hydraboost brake system and that could be where you are leaking powersteering fluid from. My dually was leaking from the lines coming off the hydra boost. Man looks like you can eliminate some of those wires on your passenger firewall as well. There will be one hose that should come off your manifold and then tee off to a vacum canister then in to the firewall on the passenger side. That hose will lead to your heater control assembly. When you move the switches on your control assy it will port vacum to different hoses going to different actuators in your system. Pull off your glove box and you can get a better view. There is also a small white plastic piece that breaks on a flapper door inside the heater control box. They are known for breaking. Classic parts one of the site vendors sells the replacement peice so if you look through their catalouge you will know what I am talking about. Nice dually

Re: Been working on my dually, What do you think?

Just looking at the engine pic and wondering why your vacuum line from the carb to distributor is on the "timed port" of the carb instead of the full vacuum port?

As far as I know yes....but I too am fairly new to carbs and was hoping you new the answer lol! My engine builder said that the vacuum line should go to the full vacuum port which is the one on the drivers side of the front of the carb. How does your truck run currently? I was going to switch my lines for the ride home tonight to see if it makes a difference.

Re: Been working on my dually, What do you think?

Nice truck!

The vacuum line for the advance should be on the ported vacuum port.
If you run it with full vacuum you get advance at idle. With it on the ported side as you open the throttle it will advance, which will help on acceleration.
They has been some debate on the issue, but I believe this is how it came from the factory.

Re: Been working on my dually, What do you think?

I switched to the passenger side port and the truck ran a lot better! No more bog on tip in which makes sense since it was pulling full timing before.

In 1987 they changed the designation on the square-bodies from C/K (2WD/4WD) to R/V and kept them like that until the end of the run in 1991. This was because of the "NEW" body style change that came out in late '87.
