Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
We have been needing a shop truck for a long time. My dad drives a suburban, which is not real handy around the shop sometimes and I drive a new Chevy but do not even carry groceries in the back of it yet. The truck in the background (the blue and white one) was going to be our trop truck until we found this one. It runs and drives great and is amazing how helpful the extra 6 inches of bed space is.

That will never do. It's missing a cigarette lighter.
It just happens that I have a lighter in need of a truck. Let me know if you want me to take it off your hands. |

The one sided running board is great! Haha.
Take those caps off and give the steelies some fresh paint, a good polish/wax, maybe a little drop and thats one stylin shop truck! Sweet. Looks like you have a bunch of trucks in the background...any plans?

Re: Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
The immediate plans include to finish cleaning it up, take off the other running board, wax it, repair the one bucket seat cover or recover both of them, and just use it. We bought this truck in Kansas City from a farmer. I guess he used it to haul produce to the market of something because on one of the side panels he had written sweet corn on it, So this truck is officially named “SWEET CORN”.

Re: Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
Steve, that was a real air horn and that was the first thing to go. Bad thing, the horn was easy to take off but it left a tennis ball size rusty spot on the hood.

Re: Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
I'm in love! I wonder how rare the bucket seat option was on something like that?

Do you know any history on the truck? Where did you find it?

Re: Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
The truck was bought new in Omaha Neb and sold to the second owner who lives in Kansas City. Trevor saw it on KC craigs list and mentioned on the forum. Fortunately it was under described and had no photos. Most folks ignored it and we followed thru and bought it from the second owner. It still has the protecto plate and runs and drives great. We will not do a full restoration but freshen up and drive it. Paul and Jason

Re: Pics of the "new" shop truck!!
That is a really nice Longhorn you got there!
I'm getting a '72 Longhorn also. The only thing mine does not have is bucket seats and tilt like yours does. Although, mine has the tool box on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel well. |
