Buick 455 going into my 1980 3/4 4x4. (motor mounts)?
I'm looking for motor mounts to bolt in a Buick 455 into my 1980 3/4 ton 4x4....
Anyone have any ideas? I've looked all over the internet, and cant find anything... Is there any factory mounts that would work? I really dont want to fab mounts.. Thanks Jesse |

The bigger issue is going to be the transmission, being that it will need to have the BOP bolt pattern.
As far as mounts go, the only other non Chevy engine that fits in these trucks without any mods is the Oldsmobile V8's, since the 350 diesel offered in these trucks was a Oldsmobile V8. If you don't want to do any fabricating or change bellhousings/transmissions, A Chevy 454 would be a more cost friendly option.

Pyrotechnic is absolutely correct, you are going to have to have a transmission shop build a 4x4 transmission starting with a BOP case.
Fabricating motor mounts is the easy part, it's connecting the exhaust, radiator hoses, etc. that gets time consuming.

Thanks guys.. I already have the tranny issue under control with an adapter from advance adapters. So the 350 diesel motor monts will work? The other reason for using then 455 is it weighs 159lbs less than the 454, Thanks P.S the 455 Is being built as I'm typing.
