Where can I find a Bench seat? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Im looking to replace my bucket seats with a bench seat. I can seem to find any bench seats. I find plenty of seat covers but not the frame itself. Im in NJ and if anyone has any info please let me know. Either new or used is fine.

Are you replacing stock buckets or aftermarket? If they are stock buckets they are obviously worth more than the bench, so you should be able to trade someone that has a bench, plus get some cash out of the deal.

Become a subscribing member on this board ($25) and then you can post a Wanted To Buy ad and you should be able to find more bench seats then you could ever use.

If you can't find one on here, try this search engine that'll check all craigslists in your area....just input your zip and slide the little bar for the search area in miles and input a keyword...and ta da.....results!!!

you can even use the 60/40 bench seats out of a late 80's early 90's chevy truck. here is a thread on interior. also as the guys mentioned, peruse the parts section here, and search craigslist.

I've got one you can have. I'm just outisde Richmond VA, so probably not worth the trip, but I just thought I'd say.

It's time to show a photo of what you are wanting to replace so these guys won't worry for days that you threw out a set of buddy seats for a bench.

If you are replacing buddy seats someone back there will probably race over and swap you a really nice bench and help do the swap. If you are replacing a pair of who knows what buckets that didn't belong in the truck in the first place the choices are finding a rebuildable seat in a wrecking yard or from someone's parts truck or using a seat out of maybe an 88 or up C-10. I have one out of an 88 fourwheel drive that sits great but the bases are tall and I look about 6'9' when I drive it although I am about 5'10'.

It has been quite a few years ago I put a 60/40 bench seat out of '92 GMC K-3500 into my '72 C-10.

It fit great and the padding wasn't too much like some of the newer ones. It did require drilling a few more holes and putting plates under the cab, but it worked out great.

Most junk yards should have them pretty cheap.
