best 2" rear or 1"-3" drop

I'm looking at doing a drop on my 70 c10 - either a 2" rear to level it or a 1"-3". Are new springs enough or is there a better way to do it. How bout shocks? do I need to use drop shocks with that setup?

Re: best 2" rear or 1"-3" drop

i wouldn't think that you would need drop shocks.
id say a 2"
you could take a tape measure and measure the front on level ground. and then the back, and find out the difference that would give you a ball park.
someone else should chime in. or try the search function.

You could just put in a two inch block. Pretty cheap and it'll keep the origional geometry.

Re: best 2" rear or 1"-3" drop

I thought you needed to have leaf springs to use a drop block.

Nah...Same concept. Longer u bolts and a block. Goes between axel and trailing arm mounting point. Take a look at your truck and it'll make sense.

Throw up a search on the forum. There's a thread someone did building his own blocks with the install. Easy money. Or CPP (and a few other places too I'm sure) sells them for some $.
