Not sure what i bought

Im looking for a little help from anyone that can give a little info on whats sitting in my driveway. Ill tell you what i know and what has me stumped. I bought a 1972 Chevy C-10 4x4 Cheyenne. The truck is a regular cab, long bed and had a plow on it untill the other night. The door tags and inside glove box #'s match and are the same as ones on the title to the truck. The truck is a 6 lug wheel pattern. This is the part throwing me off...... it has cab lights. Not ones like you can buy at napa or any auto parts store, the roof has been stamped with raised landings for the lights(factory). What im looking for is well..... what is it that i have? and why havent i seen a c10 with cab lights before?

Re: Not sure what i bought

do you know where i can find any pictures of them? I need to replace the cab b/c the floor is so bad it easier to get a cab. I just want to see if its worth the time to look for another cab with the lights or to skin the roof off and transfer to another cab along with the cargo lamp

Re: Not sure what i bought

welcome to the forum. i think my first post was "what did i buy". the fact that all the numbers match is a good thing. all the info you need is here. many very experienced members willing to help. cab lights were an option just like power steering. order a LMC catalog. it will give you an idea of whats available and what it costs. certainly not only source but will get you going.

Re: Not sure what i bought

Correct that it is an option. I have (2) 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks that both have the raised roof pads for the cab lights. One is a 70 custom/10 and the other is a 71 cheyenne-10. It will probably be tough to find a cheyenne roof with the lights, but not impossible.
Now, lets see some pics...

Re: Not sure what i bought

i don't have a photo handy, but the lenses are commonly called fireman's hat style lenses. Same as on the 73 - 87 square body trucks.
You can get them at your local NAPA

Re: Not sure what i bought

You would be looking for a 1 ton cab would have the raised roof. If they are the style in the picture NAPA Has the lenses "BALKAMP 680-2488 marker lens".

If you decide to swap cabs, here's one with cab lights that member special-k has for sale.

i personally think that classic parts its at least two steps ahead of LMC. they have a better print catalog, website and better prices. Welcome to the forum by the way
