timing chain worn out?
can't adjust the carb right so I checked the timing. It is at about 25btdc. It won't idle any other way. I assume the chain needs replacing. Have no idea the milage, just got it 2 weeks ago. Engine is a 250 out of an Old's.

Re: timing chain worn out?
I checked, no chain, you knew that. The eng. has a March,15, 1976 build date. It has the integral head. Compression is 150 on all 6. Maybe I should drop on the 2 barrel from Langdon. It has the HEI already.

Re: timing chain worn out?
Sounds to me like the outer ring on the harmonic balancer has slipped. It happened to two separate 250 engine I have owned. A new one can be bought at any local parts store through the Pioneer brand line.
