What's everyone using for mirrors?

Hey all. I'm poking around at options on mirrors. My '69 came with the original "Mokey Bar" mirrors but I think the styling of our trucks is nice enough that when I'm putting things back together later this summer, I want to put something a little less clunky looking on. I know there were some original styles that looked great but I wonder if they give enough field of view?

I was thinking the mirrors off a Toyota Previa van might work. Any other ideas/pics/suggestions?

Thanks,

Greg

I like these, for what ever reason.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I'm about to try and attach these to my doors. I kept the vent windows, so I couldn't use the 'triangle mount' style that almost all one piece windows have today.

I spent a few weeks looking for 'modern' electric mirrors that could mount on the door. Came up with: late '80s Porsche (sure, I'll find these somewhere!), Miata, Corvette (only $165 each from my local GM dealer!), late '80s Olds 98, older Lincoln Town Car and....ta da....'87 Ford Escort. These are from the Escort, $35 for the whole package.

...Oops, I type too fast and think too slow....

Forgot to mention they're definitely not new, just from the local U-Pull-It yard. And they are kinda small, the mirrors are about 3 1/2" X 6".

I'm thinking of just using some of those round "peep mirrors" that you can order from LMC/chevyduty/etc. (right now I don't have any)...

Stock rearview, none on the sides. Legal here since I'm not tinting the rear glass.

Go with the stock long arm round mirrors you can buy as repops. They give plenty of view (unless you haul a wide load) and look "period" correct. Anything else looks out of place on a stock appearing truck, IMO. Of course if you going customized, a periscope would be "unique".

Kenneth, if you do go with that mod may I suggest you get the vanity plate "UBOAT" so as not to confuse your vehicle with a truck!

BTW, what does the MA DOT say about rudders and propellers?

Rearview only. Sideview mirrors clutter up the lines of the truck in my opinion.

I have RV mirrors right now. I hate them. I'm going to go with the small round ones some day, and patch the holes the other mirrors made. That'll happen when I restore the body.

I've seen the mirrors of a 96 f-150 on a couple different trucks they fit perfect, and don't look goddy, I seen a guy french in sorry freedom in the tail lights off that 96f-150 too, you had to see it, it didn't look to bad for custom work

I use one of the "peep" mirrors. It is kinda small but ok when you get used to it.

mine look like the 68-74 nova mirrors. i got them from pepboys for $20. they are cheap but i hated the west coast style mirrors. i like the truck mirrors that look like old mid 60's to early 70's chrome mirrors
